I am sorry for not posting a message earlier. I'm sure you can click my username and read a little history about my case, and my problems getting better custody of my children.

Well, I got less than I wanted, but went from 14% to 46% so though there is dissapointment there, I am so happy to have what I got I guess I'm dealing with it...

I still have to pay for her attorney, and she will still make life as difficult as possible for me, especially because my daughters tell her why they would rather be with me, even though I NEVER discuss custody issues with them and she has a history of doing it.

So, I may offer some help, or advice for fathers like me if they want it. Fathers who work every day but don't have the money for an attorney, and really love their children. The biggest advice I can give is: Don't give up! Ask for what you want, state it clearly, and always think of your children.

Congratulations!!!
I am glad there are others out there that do prevail.  I hope your story will inspire others to stick it out.  I bet your ex was pissed ...

Best wishes for you and your family.

If you are going through a long-drawn out custody battle, as did I, or want to modify your custody like I did, don't hesitate, just do it! The worst it did for me was increase my custody from 14% to 46%!

I'm still frustrated that it's not 50%, and it's obviously has to do with money, but nonetheless, I'm grateful I get so much more time with my children.

My kids have improved DRAMATICALLY in school since I gained the time with them.

My kids have enjoyed the extra time as much, if not more than I do.

Though my time is divided more (driving to and from school) I don't have any complaints; well, other than the mother should be driving more...

This gain was HUGE for both me and my daughters.

Child support case, which was also a big stressor, was solved pretty easily too. While I'm sure i'll be back in court again for CS in the next few years, I'm grateful to have custody solved for now. Like many fathers, though I now make LESS than when I went to CS court, I'm still paying the same; just to avoid having to drag this out in court. However, it is so much easier to deal with that issue when I get so much more quality time with my kids...

Anyway, I just finished the last court date for custody, and though it was only to sign a stipulation that I would pay for her attorney, I'm glad it's all over with for now. I look forward to the day when I can have the extra 4%, or hopefully someday even have them more since their mother isn't a good mother to them anyway...

Good luck to everyone out there, and try not to despair. It sounds "easy for me to say this" but believe me, it's not. I was close to giving up completely in life, but I didn't, and I'm glad I chose to fight for my kids.

That is awesome news! Congratulations! You are a great example to all the Dad's out here who are thinking of giving up because of the crappy system.
