Are our Govt. "stimulus checks" subject to the interception of Arrears by the Division Child support Extortion???
if So, what is the ridiculous thinking behind this...
I have gone 6 years without any taxes because I was simply "layed off" my Job, as if that's my fault, as if were supposed to maintain the same standard resulting from a layoff as apposed to still being married. Why dint the politicians in general keep the economy up, so layoffs are less likely??

Oh that's right they make money off the poor NC P's!

Makes me sick! Embarrassed

Well, I got a notice yesterday that my tax refund was going to CSE, and the amount listed was $600, so I reckon that was my stimulus check. I'm stimulated, allright.

If you filed jointly, you can get part of this back...The person not responsible for the debt can file an injured spouse claim..They will get their part of the refund..
BTW this is going to be a life time thing...My only kid is 34 years old and they took mine...Nope this is not a typo he is 34 years old

Don't know what state you are in JEI, but briefly the NCP paid me directly and not through the court.  Then he stopped again.  When I decided to pursue this again, I submitted some affidavit of direct payments that was deducted from his arrearages.  But I am sure if he hadn't, all he had to do was provide copies of the cancelled checks as proof of payment.  That's what I would do.

Yes, the stimulus check goes directly to pay on your arrearage! We spoke with the IRS and I had to file an injured spouse claim, which they are currently "still" researching. IF they honor my injured spouse claim, only half of our stimulus check will be forwarded to the state. FYI we filed our return in April. This is August 11th and they are "still researching". Funny how when you owe Them, they want your money immediately, but when they owe you....

Sorry for the bad news. Just another way the ncp is getting ripped a new one.

Been there, DBIO. My son is 27 and I just finished paying a $25K arrearage caused by my ex-wife's welfare fraud. I had already paid much more than that directly to her.

I have great news! After months of the IRS making a determination of my injured spouse claim, I am happy to announce that I did get my half of the tax refund and I also got my half of the stimulus check! It's not all bad news boys and girls. You can keep "some" of your money safe from the machine that is the child support system. It takes a little extra effort on your part, but hey, it's way worth it! Good luck to you all!
