A federal lawsuit accuses two Allentown police officers of ”outlandish and outrageous conduct” in what it calls the unprovoked shooting of a man who tried to kill himself with a box cutter.

James H. Stewart, 24, died from two gunshots to his back after the officers tried to arrest him for failing to return to Northampton County Prison after a work-release assignment. He had been jailed for failing to make child support payments. (more…)

Note from ANCPR – She was to receive a very large settlement, as well as $4000 a month in child support.  He, apparently, thought she was going to end his relationship with his twelve yer old daughter – many of you know the story well. 

Led into Montgomery County District Court yesterday, Rafael Robb – dressed in a blue button-down shirt and jeans – shuffled along slowly, his hands and feet shackled to a brown leather belt around his waist.

As he entered his arraignment to face charges in the December beating death of his wife, Ellen, Robb, 56, a University of Pennsylvania economics professor, remained stoic as reporters swarmed around him, bombarding him with questions he ignored.

Inside, District Justice William Maruszczak read the charges, which included first- and third-degree murder, possessing an instrument of crime, tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, and making false reports to the police. Robb sat in silence.

“I’ve been so heartsick the entire time,” said Susan Gay, whose daughter is a former schoolmate of Olivia Robb, the Robbs’ 12-year-old daughter who is now being cared for by other family members. (more…)

Oakland, Calif. police arrested Hans Reiser, husband of a missing mother of two and the programmer who led the development of ReiserFS, the default file system on Suse Linux/openSUSE, Slackware, Xandros, Yoper, Linspire and Kurumin Linux.Police arrested Reiser on suspicion of murder in connection with the disappearance of his estranged wife, according to news reports in The San Diego Union-Tribune. Investigators have scoured his home, where he runs Namesys. Police said Reiser’s wife was last seen there as she dropped off her children Sept. 3. Police found her car full of groceries outside a supermarket.

Nina Reiser had filed for divorce, stating that her husband often used violent video games and movies to relax and exposed the children to the violent entertainment, according to reports in the San Francisco Chronicle, citing the divorce court documents. Hans Reiser had accused his wife of having an affair and said she was mentally unstable, according to several news reports. (more…)

DANDRIDGE, TENNESSEE — Gunfire erupted after a 10-year-old boy’s baseball game, leaving three of his grandparents dead and his father wounded, officials said Tuesday.

Here’s a small quote: He was especially embittered by the couple’s divorce settlement, finalized 24 days before Tennant-Nicholson’s death, Zimet said.

Tennant-Nicholson gained the family home in the divorce, custody of the couple’s two sons, ages 3 and 5, and $922 in monthly child support, she said.

LAS VEGAS — A Las Vegas jury sentenced John Chartier and David Wilcox to life in prison without parole Tuesday for murdering Chartier’s ex-wife and her father at their home on Aug. 18, 2004.

Prosecutors said Chartier asked Wilcox to kill Rachel Bernat and her father, Carlos Aragon, because he was angry over a “nasty divorce and bitter custody battle” involving the couple’s then-4-year-old son, Ezekiel. (more…)

reputed fugitive Darren Roy Mack, who is thought to

be in Mexico to turn himself in to authorities.

 Thursday Morning Darren R. Mack emailed

and a local TV show in central Coast of California,

with a piece of information that confirmed his identity.

 Authorities, including FBI & D.A. of Washoe County, Nevada,

and Reno PD, have been seeking Mr. Mack in connection to the

death of his estranged wife, Darla in Reno, and the shooting of

the judge, Charle Weller, who sat on their custody/divorce case.

 William Wagener is the only person to have taped Darren Mack

on or about May 27, 2006, and another Reno dad in connection

with the reputed crooked acts of Judge Charles Weller nearly 2 weeks

before the events of June 12, when Judge Weller was shot through

his 3rd floor Window of the Courthouse. Mr. Mack had tried in vein for

months to get media attention to the blatantly unfair rulings of Judge

LAS VEGAS — Jurors convicted John Chartier and David Wilcox Friday of murdering Chartier’s ex-wife and her father at their home on Aug. 18, 2004.

The same jury will return Monday to decide whether the men deserve to be executed for the stabbing deaths of Rachel Bernat, 43, and Carlos Aragon, 65.

Prosecutors and defense attorneys declined to comment on the case until the conclusion of the penalty phase. (more…)

Dad paid support for 11 years after child killed

A check in the mail led Daniel Davenport to a terrible discovery.

The Wichitan had lost his daughter, Ashley,when he and her mother broke up in 1988. Ashley stayed in the Golden State with her mother. Davenport left California in 1990 and returned to Wichita Falls.

Davenport lost Ashley again – this time to a fatal car accident in July 1995.

But he wouldn’t know about the wreck until 11 years later after, receiving a refund check for child support, arrears and medical insurance from the Texas Attorney General’s office.

Davenport pulled the check from his mailbox one day in April – of this year.

When Davenport and his fiancee Kelly Reece contacted the office to question the refund, they were told “the child is deceased and no more payments are required.”

A check for $2,160 was all that remained of Ashley’s life. (more…)

Milwaukee cops: Picnic killer may be in Mexico

MILWAUKEE — An illegal immigrant suspected of fatally shooting two picnickers and wounding three others may have fled to Mexico, police said Wednesday.

Police identified the suspect in Monday’s shooting as Octaviano Juarez-Corro. He had not been formally charged but police Capt. Timothy Burkee said charges could come this week.

Juarez-Corro, 32, is accused of firing on a group of people at South Shore Park on Memorial Day in what authorities call a domestic dispute possibly related to recently filed divorce papers.

Suspect told to pay child support

The shootings left two people fatally wounded with multiple gunshots to the head, police said. Authorities identified the victims as Raymundo Munoz-Silva, 31, and Julio C. Diaz-Guillen, 17, both of Milwaukee. (more…)
