ANCPR Amicus Brief in Newdow

October 1st, 2007 · No Comments

Recevied this today from a friend who had prepared an Amicus Brief for ANCPR and UFA in the Newdow case, specifically, in regard to the issue of standing (whether Mr. Newdow, as the ncp father, had standing to bring the case to court):

I told you quite a while back, while you were on your little vacation, overseas on a tropical island, I filed an Amicus brief with the US Supreme Court on behalf of UFA and ANCPR.

If you are interested, there were quite a few briefs filed with the court on this one.  You might note that, the US Attorney quoted directly from the ANCPR brief, and the justices discussed one of the issues I raised.  Out of all the Amicus briefs filed in this case, this was the only one they did that with.  I am sure if you found the oral argument on this and verify that statement.  You may want to put this up on your ANCPR website if you are still interested.  I think there is a lot stated that is of interest to a lot of people.  I have been told it is well written, but I think it got changed from what I actually wrote.  I don’t normally have that bad a level of grammar.

Here is a transcript of the oral arguments before the U.S. Supreme Court on the Newdow case.

Here is the text of the ANCPR / UFA Amicus brief on the issue of standing in the Newdow case.
