Marin County Man Pilots Stolen Plane To Cuba
(CBS 5) HAVANA, Cuba A Cessna aircraft stolen last week from an airport in the Florida Keys has been found in Havana, Cuba, according to police, who said a Bay Area man apparently piloted the plane.
The Monroe County, Fla., Sheriff’s Office confirmed the plane was located Tuesday in Havana. Federal Bureau of Investigation agents told Monroe County officials that the plane apparently landed in Cuba after experiencing mechanical difficulties.
Federal agents had very little information on the Californian said to have have piloted the stolen plane — except that he is reportedly from Marin County. The man also made the flight to Cuba with an 11-year-old boy, officials said.
The relationship between the two has not been confirmed but officials believe the 11-year-old is the man’s son and the subject of a custody dispute.
The pair are currently being held in Cuba. Once brought back to the U.S., the unidentified man faces federal charges which may include theft of an aircraft.
Police identified the owner of the stolen plane as William Jones of New York, who flew down to the Florida Keys last week on vacation. Jones told police he landed at the Florida Keys Marathon Airport, left with some friends and later came back to find his Cessna aircraft missing. The theft was reported to the Sheriff’s Office shortly after 5 pm Saturday.
Airport officials searched the grounds and found no sign of the 1978 Cessna, valued at $78,000.
The FBI is leading the investigation into the theft.

Control absent power -> Futility. (i.e., the man)
Power absent control -> Tyranny. (i.e., the PCs)
This man may have merely registered the lay-of-”our”-Land quite accurately.
