Child Support hurts children – here is a story for you!

Here is a comment that was posted some time ago on this blog. I thought others would find this interesting. It’s a letter from a young man that had been lied to by his mother about his father. This is what happens when the state steps in where is shouldn’t.

I am working to pay Child Support ON MYSELF!
How. Well, my MOM COLLECTED child support. She wouldn’t let us See DAD. She hid us with Relatives and TOLD us he was DEAD. She swore he didn’t pay a DIME to anyone who would listen. Funny. AT 19 I discovered he not only Was alive…..he had been trying to have some contact since my Mother decided to Divorce him out of the blue. So I moved where He was and Wow a whole world opened up. Now I am 24. The state of Texas is STILL Making him pay my mother. I have called them! My Mother agreed to Pay Me some of the CHILD support to help with school. DAD has sent Big checks. So far I have recieved Nothing from my Mother. I have no RIGHT to a dollar taken from my Father. So he was not paying what he DOESNT OWE (remember i am an adult) Fast ENOUGH and he has lost his Drivers licence. Without it He can’t work. So if he does not make payments Now he goes to Jail. So You guys are Draining ME to keep my Father out of Jail So you can Steal money For my Mother to DRINK and Party on. Nice system.
Oh and Dad did not ABANDON us. Mom decided she was Gay. Dumped us off with Grandma and has played the victim every since. DONT EVER SAY CHILD SUPPORT TO ME……………..CHILD ROBBERY is what you could call it. Not only did it take my childhood and my Future….now it is trying to steal my Dad from me AGAIN!

Yes this sounds like australia as well, dictators telling families what to do, bankrupting one to make them think govt is doing what is right, when it is about interfering in families.

Yep that sounds like the good old OZ Child Support Agency.
Not only did the CSA halve Liam Magill’s take home pay for a decade ( to support 3 children 2 of which 2 were the product of his wife’s affair with a trusted family Friend Derek Rowe who ran away to Southport in Queensland) The same Child RORT Agency agency refused to refund or credit Liam Magill any money when DNA tests proved the non paternity of Derek Rowe’s 2 children. Rowe got off scott free. But wait there’s more. Liam Magill discovered in 2006 that one of its honoured Judges who presided over his case committed the same crime back in 60′s. It’s all about government control, and stealing our money! They think of us as idiots and people not deserving a life to be free. Child Support is a big scam in order to rake in money and gain control of our lives nothing else. There is one thing that gets in the way of the Government taking control of everything (MEN). So Government use feminist’s to take down men by taking everything from him and getting him out of the way allowing governments to take over. And the men and women of this country don’t even know that’s what there really doing. It will be to late when people start waking up to this reality. (Truth).
Wow, this is a rare story and I’m sorry this particular situation happened. I wonder though if your mother paid family members money to take care of the children though. My father paid a whole dollar to my mother (so she claims) for my sister and I. I hope she’s telling the truth because my sister and I had it pretty rough. Child support is meant for exactly what the wording says “support”; to help pay for cost of raising a child and their needs(which doesn’t mean a new car, designer clothes ect.-unless they come from accustomed to that life style). Regarding the government “taking down men” I disagree- FACT- men get paid more for the same position hired for. FACT-the Child support agency acts on only the reported income, this I know first handed. My son’s father(probably one of the biggest deadbeats alive) now decides to work construction and now with “the economy this bad” no work available (so he claims). He now does cash jobs and gets away with not paying a dime “because according to Child Support-they can act only on income reported”. Yet I get to be harrassed with being solely financially responsible for my son and made to spend money to ensure visitation occurs. Gas prices the way they are?! I’ve decided no more visitation unless he picks up and drops off; I’m not taking on anymore expenses outside of his needs. Needs to see/know his father? Well, I say his father needs to step up a bit or nope, ain’t gonna happen. I look forward to the day the moron tries to take me to court for contempt.
Well, I’m from Australia, married 5 years, divorced as she wanted to play around, courts took the kid out of the family home where I was allowed to stay. Paid her off as I knew I must.
Then Child Support began their games. I left Australia. Haven’t earned a living in 5 years but now have a 2 year old child. Cannot return s I now owe over 50,000 dollars. I’m too old to get a decent job. Forced to live out my days in third world countries now and my child here an Australian is disadvantaged in health, education and a financially. Australia is not the lucky country not even for some kids like mine. CSA is as corrupt as any family court.

Yes I agree with Liam Magill it is very hard to live on a few hundred dollars a month! I know! And how TERRIBLE to know that your spouse committed adultery! Feel like killing yourself; you sure do! (the intention of the CSA)
The Child Support Agency of Australia sure is inept and designed to destroy generally MEN……………….but sometimes, but very very very very rarely WOMEN.
I had no where to run and no where to hide………even a third world country (and it is hard to HIDE there now).
But I will have the last laugh because what goes around comes around.
Damn, I read this and thought it was a story about the good old U.S. of A. with our freedom and justice for all. I once went to jail for not paying on time. I was paying ahead of schedule. Since the timing of how I was paying was not on the court ordered schedule, I was in contempt. Ergo, I went to jail.
WOW, sounds like my situation exactly. How sad this is. The parents should be required to prove how they spend the money for the children and give it to the child support services and parent each month. Also, if the child is an adult, the support should go directly to the child (ADULT) in a savings account set up for the child (ADULT) for them to have access to the money only. The Child Support system is crooked everywhere and if law makers took the time to look at it, they may see it for themselves or if they had to pay and had the same problems we have, they sure would have a bill on the floor on that same day. How sad.
Hey let’s make women actually WORK and collect child support, then the money looks better each week. If they start to whine and complain ..okay give us the kids and you pay us ! Oh no give your hard earned money to us , but what will you live off of? Will you suffer? Will you become homeless or put in jail …..LMAO . Yeah thought so …..At least you have prostitution to fall back on and your all pretty go at it! Get pregnant again this time you don’t know the father and the state gives you money …ooooppssss hope the goverment doesn’t read this. Uh Oh Loop Hole…….

Well Antonine i respect your opinion. The USA is a bit different 98% of all cases goes in favor of the woman. Okay the guy pays his support lets say 200$ a week half of his pay after taxes. Women in this country not all but most say it’s not enough , yet they don’t work . They don’t want to . I can see if the children are young . But todays kids 12 or older have thier own lives and are hardly home to begin with . So why can’t the mother work ? But yet as a bartender i watch and listen every single weekend . Women complaining the money isn’t enough and they can’t survive. Until the end of the night when they have a 50-70 $ bill , not counting the gambling. So really….. Yes men should pay no doubt no question. But the women have to pick it up as well. Can’t find work nothing out there for you …..Like you said it goes both ways. I don’t know Austrailia Law and i am sorry to see you suffer. My comments are directed to the ones who read it and know who they are. I think everything should be 50/50 that simple. Yes I know most are men and I was picked by a group of evil people I cannot name (yet) to be the fall “girl”. It would shock you if I named them and I cannot quite risk it.
I had always worked; wonderful job, no vices, not one. Made my own work clothes (suits), entertained, used holiday as maternity leave and we had huge assets. I will be skating on thin ice to tell you more but the other party had HUGE income.
I was left with no money and rent and two children to support
and after paying rent I would have had a few hundred dollars a month to feed us, pay bills etc.I was meant to DIE.
I received the CSA letter and started screaming as I could take it no more. By the time I had swallowed 30 tablets a friend by chance called round and restrained me from swallowing more.I was serious and it was NOT planned. He spent hours on the phone.
It would shock you to know who the people are and for legal reasons I cannot say but something very major has come out and this is why I am even risking writing this as our justice system stinks here. Lawyers are corrupt and bribed and so are the police. But this crime that has been validated by a witness cannot be ingnored as it is considered one of the worst.I hope some people are shaking.
I think in having four children I had a total of six months off work withour pay. And I was on GOOD pay.S*** happens.
Oh and I have never even been to a bar by myself or do I know how to gamble even though the neighbours were told I had a gambling problem. Don’t know how to fill out a tatts ticket or even been or want to go to the races.
Hi Antonine, again i feel for YOU ! I just wonder why something like this is not voted upon to make it fair . 50/50 is not bad. I think in some cases not ours of course but it might actually bring families back together. About lawyers being pai d off as well ass judges oh yes very very true. I even have proof in my case but whom do i bring it too. About the bar seen and gambling it doesn’t always point out every woman but does make me sick to my stomache. As sad as it is we have to stand and fight Antonine. Killing one self is not the way why give them the satisfaction, rather string them up …lol. Be strong Antonine you seem to me like a strong woman never lose faith even sometimes things look bleek. Stand and fight to the last drop of blood or piece of sanity. I wish we could talk in person. But your in Austrailia and i’m hear in USA. I will pray for you …. Hopefully something will change at least for our childrens sake for the future. Keep in touch Antonine…. Ah. In the State of Arizona we have a new and frightening public policy being proposed for child support. Current policy generally respects the concept of child support as a safety net, to provide basic support for children. The parent is considered responsible for their own financial health.
Watch out. The recent gains in parenting time are now being attacked on financial grounds. The State is now proposing that child support be based upon the “standard of living” of the households, rather than “support for the child”.
It then moves on to claim that “disparate (different) income” should be “equalized” through the mechanism of child support, which is “in the best interest of the child” even though they also openly claim “that a consequence of this benefit to the child is a benefit to the custodial parent household”.
This new policy is known as the Child Outcomes Based Support model, and it explicitly targets equalization of household standard of living as defined by parental income. C.O.B.S.
Advocates for fair child support in Arizona have rightly claimed that C.O.B.S. simply represents “hidden alimony”. A blatant attempt by advocates for increasing child support payments to “benefit” the custodial parent by using child support to convey alimony. Likewise, after a knock down, drag out political fight throughout 2010, beginning in March and ending in October, the State Supreme Court (Arizona Judicial Council) voted to defer C.O.B.S. to the State Legislature for review versus perceived Arizona Public Policy (ARS Title 25).
Thus — C.O.B.S. is “not dead” — it is “a zombie” fully loaded and ready to spring back to life. The State Supreme Court “punted” C.O.B.S. to the Legislature. The due date is October, 2011 — at which time, if the Legislature does not act, C.O.B.S. will return to the Supreme Court (Arizona Judicial Council) for another “vote”.
Anyone and everyone in Arizona and around the country take note. The American Legal Institute, Principles of Family Law of 2002, contain the provision upon which C.O.B.S. is based: that the State should have the authority to mandate the standard of living of a parental household through the mechanism of child support (Ellman, et al). C.O.B.S. is its first attempt, via its advocates, to impose this new policy on the public.

I am waiting for legal things to hopefully happen and I can explain.I consider myself the victim of a very greedy, narcissistic fame seeking WOMAN who exploited the situation.She cares not for the fate of children (mine and others) and wants three women that I know of dead.I intend, when I can psych myself up, to see the lawyer of one so she knows more of the truth of this woman who has tried to destroy a number of us.Yes you will know of the woman.

In the U.S (Orange county, California) child support office said I should pay $350 a month, I tried to make payments but they said the case is just opened so payments can’t be accepted. I tried few times but the same answer- sorry case is not established yet but you can pay your ex directly and keep records. 2k in her bank account I added the day she left but it was not accepted as child support! lol it gets better…
Their automatic system changed my mailing address and 7 months later I was finally asked to go to the court. In the court I was slammed with a year and half of child support with a very, very high APR!!!
I agreed to pay the amount, I used my debit card to make payments and they took down my bank information and guess what they contacted the bank and emptied my account. lol
Being in the middle of “divorce court, child custody and a different county/city child support courts” I couldn’t work much so therefore I got laid off!!!! Just fkg perfect! I was about $1,300 behind now they are saying pay it all off or kiss my license goodbye! WTF?! LoL how can I work if I can’t drive?
Here is the good part. My ex kept on violating courts orders- and even came up with charges that my 16months old daughter and I were having sex! I was lucky that I kept on contacting cop after cop to locate my daughter finally corona cop Judy help me locate my daughter 2 hours away from me. Took her to the hospital, got the doctors reports, Child protective reports, cops info and the court gave me the “Sole Custody” of my child.
Now she will have to pay the child support!!! LoL Hey, I want all the men out there to know that I feel your pain cuz I was there. Lets hope your ex-bitch is just as dumb as mine so you can take your child and make them pay for it. lol
My daughter is “daddy’s girl”, cuz dad always did whatever he could in his power to be protective. Long story short, system is not perfect and it takes months and years but if we never give up we can change things around so the other party gets to enjoy our HOT, HOT SEATS! LoL

This is the same situation my husband is in. When we first got together 9 years ago we always had his two girls from a previous relationship. His ex would drop the girls off every other weekend and pick up her money (she would get dramatic when he tried to send it in b/c she said she needed to right then, i know that was stupid, now). She would come back days later and pick them up, we both worked so they went to g-mas when we had them during the week when we couldnt find their mother. This went on for 2 years, she would call me to come get the girls on fridays, when their dad worked. Then me and him had our own baby, which his ex new was going to happen for 9 months, then things changed…she got mad the day we had our daughter and called child support enforcement and said he hadnt been making any payments. Then informed us that we would never see the girls again… And we havent.
Now things are terrible, we have tried over and over again to resolve this with the court and to try to get the girls, but something always happens…everytime he gets a job they go arrest him for not paying or he has court so much he gets fired or gets his license taken away because of child support. They want him to pay almost 1k a month for two children we dont even get to see and she is telling them their father is dead. We found out she was buying drugs with the money he was giving her and when he took it to the judge he said it didnt matter, she could do whatever she wanted to with the money. How can she do whatever she wants to and he has to worry about being persecuted? Why does he always have to go to jail? We are married now for 5 years and have our own children together and this is screwing up their lives too. The way I see it is that this one woman is allowed to make accusations and everyone else just has to deal with it…did i mention my husband is not on the birth certificate and the children do not have his last name and they werent married, but living together when she filed for child support therefore he never got any of the mail for it… she said they were his and he said ok.
now we have paid thousands of dollars over the years for bonds, court fees, lawyer fees and child support and am in the same spot still,only broker. He cant even get a job and the child support balance just keeps going up.
Advice please, I dont know what to do anymore and this is just tearing my husband up inside, we feel like we have no options anymore.
My situation has not become as bad yet,I pray that it doesn’t. I would suggest you get a paternity test, find a private investigator, and prove that the other parent is unfit to care for the children. May God grant you peace in your house.
For every bad non-custodial parent story (i.e. how bad he or she is treated by the custodial parent) there there are three to four times as many bad stories concerning custodial parents. It is a shame that the government had to be brought in on the process but it happened because too many kids were being supported by the government. The one problem that I do see that ought to be changed is that the father is often charged with the complete cost of raising the child. i.e. The state (court) decides it costs $600 to raise a child. I think the father should pay $300 and the mother be charged with obtaining the other $300. I am a mother, never divorced, never received child support. I do have a divorced daughter. The father has never wanted the child that he and my daughter had but he often reminds all of us who do want the child that he intends to take the child. It is a constant threat. This kind of shit is morally wrong. I am sure that mothers do it too. He paid one month of child support. Then stopped. His wages are now garnished. He has never bought anything for the child. During the time period he did not pay child support he complained that he could not buy Christmas gifts because of child support. What the hell? The stories that fathers tell. How many stories on the web site are true and how many are lies. I realize that there are good fathers and good mothers and I also realize that the are bad fathers and bad mothers. I wish there was a way to weed them out. Child support is a necessity because of bad parents–both mothers and fathers. It is a sin to be a parent who has to be dragged to court to care for one’s child. It is a sin for a parent to degrade the other parent to friends, family, the world and to the child. We are a morally corrupt society.
I hate that custodial parents have all the rights and we non custodial parents are told to shut up and pay and not say a word about the abuse we take so that we can at least talk to our kids but in my situation i cant even talk to them because their father (50) and step mother (27) use abusive language and make the kids feel like they have to agree or they get punished where can we get help
