US man accused of grabbing own kids freed in Japan – Yahoo! News

The case is among a growing number of custody disputes in Japan that involve one foreign parent. Japanese law allows only one parent to be a custodian — almost always the mother — leaving many divorced fathers without access to their children until they are grown.

While prosecutors have not pressed charges against Christopher Savoie, they haven’t yet dropped the case either, and an investigation is continuing, said police official Kiyonori Tanaka in the southern Japanese city of Yanagawa. They decided to release him on grounds that he was not a flight risk, he said.

As was reported earlier, Mr. Savoie had paid, as part of a divorce settlement, $800,000 to the mother of his children for her agreement not to move the children to Japan, yet, that is exactly what she did.  He was then granted custody by the U.S. courts, and an arrest warrant was issued for the mother.

I can understand now why fathers run with their kids. I just had one of my sons visit me from OH here FL. I witnessed her serial absuvie behaivor threaten my son over the phone and I could hear the screams from accross the coach on his cell. She yeld at him telling him to pick his cell up on the first ring not the third ring plus she said she would do the same to him as she did my oldest who has been in and out of Juvi. The son that was visiting told me of the abuse in the house and he wanted to stay with me. So I call DCF and they found server abuse. So I infor OH and they told me they didnt care what child said, me nor a CPS official from another state. Thats why wrote my book to help fathers and stepmoms.

My book has been nominated on the Oprah’s talent search for her new Book Club show.

My book is a true life account story of my divorce experience and of what I had to go through, which includes child support and visitation battles. By writing this book I hope that through my honest (often funny) insights, it will help other fathers understand what they may encounter, during and after a divorce or the end of a relationship involving children.
This book includes my mistakes, successes and check lists to help fathers and stepmoms that become knee deep in the dysfunctionality of the court system. The court system and child services insist that what they care about is simply the welfare of the children yet the system ends up creating parental alienation in the process.

Fathers are torn away from their children causing a feeling of loss and desolation, not knowing what to expect next. Frustration gets the better of them, which is where extra mistakes begin to happen. They fall into a state of denial.

My book will help guide them with my helpful hints and mistakes as they go through the journey and understanding that when there are children involved, divorce doesn’t really mean it’s the end, but will certainly help them achieve a little leverage in the process.

My tips may help them anticipate situations that may occur and hopefully, help them be as prepared as possible for what they may face.
