He says several programs helped his department achieve the record level, including those that deny hunting and fishing permits to parents who don’t pay child support. Other programs suspend their driver’s licenses or post deadbeat parents’ photos on a Web site.

ANCPR Says:

Isn’t it amazing how just about everyone in this country has bought into the idea that it is the purview of the state to be in the child support collection industry.  It’s a big business, and I believe it is one of the major factors destroying this country.  It’s a mind set that is toxic.  Basically, our position is that the state should not be imposing itself into private lives to this degree.

This is ridiculous that the state wants to go as far as taking hunting and fishing licenses away from men who dont pay their child support. They need to keep their nose out of other peoples business or at least make it fair on both the custodial and noncustodial parent. The custodial parent should not recieve child support in ammounts that make the noncustodial parent not be able to live a normal life. The ammounts that are set for child support are very unfair to noncustodial parents. Also the health insurance issue with the Attorney General is ridiculous. Most families cant even afford health insurance when the parents are not divorced or separated; but they order a noncustodail parent to pay both child support and the medical insurance that they probably did not have even before the parents were seperated. Also if a noncustodial parent looses his job and the Attorney general puts them in arrearages, and if he does not make all the arrearages up adds interest and threatens to put them in jail. If a person looses their job in a regualr household where the parents are together…… those parents are not put into arrearages and threatened with jailtime for not paying a certain ammount out to their children in child support. Most of these poor noncustodial parents should qualifye for welfare due to the ammounts of monies being taken out for child support and medical insurance. How can you put a price on what one child should get compared to antoher child in another household. Often the women are able to go on with their lives and remarry and live happily ever after, why the poor father…( non-custodial parent) is left bankrupt and unable to have a normal life. It would not be so bad if the money was being used for the child. When the noncustodial parent has the child for the summer…why should they be paying child support to the other parent . I thought the child support was for the child. just a few more points that need to be addressed. The government involvement in child support issues is ruining the relationships between children and their fathers. The laws are unfair and meant to punish the non-custodail parents. How does the government know that the other parent is not to blame for the seperation. Why punish only the poor fathers. Be fair so that children can enjoy both their parents.
